The Godfather
- The movie the Godfather written by Mario Puzzo and directed by Francis Ford Coppola was a 1972 hit classic film. It takes a look into the inner city mafia world as Don Vito Corleone fights to protect what is near and dear to him and his family. This is a film about loyalty, honor, strength and of course courage. It shows the impact of family situation while giving the viewer insight on how each family member deals with them. There were over 50 scenes with food, which shows how often all the family is together and the strength that they possessed to stand strong for one another. Anytime there was an event in the movie such as the wedding in the opening scene or the christening towards the end of the movie involved hundreds of people to symbolize support and unity. The Godfather made an impact on many things after its release in 1972, it influence every mob movie after it like the sopranos, and today’s Boardwalk Empire on HBO. Godfather also made it famous to use the genre after many thought it had died out after the 1930s mob flicks starring Cagney, Robinson, and Bogart.

- The movie the Godfather based on the book by Mario Puzzo is the most widely imitated, quoted, and known movie of all time. It begins with a wedding and on that day the Don played by Marlon Brando can’t refuse request made by anyone. His son Michael Corleone returns from the Marines a changed man vowing to never involve himself in the “family business” . After 2 murder attempts on the Don Michael slowly begins to have second thoughts and convinces his older brothers (one adopted named Tom Hagen) to accept him to murder the eons who were responsible for setting up his father. After Michael is finished with the assassination of the 2 men he goes to hide in Sicily where he is suppose to be safe. As a mob war breaks out back home, it starts to spread to Italy where Michael is hiding. His brother Sunny is murdered and Michael returns to New York to seek revenge for him and the family. After the natural death of his father Don Corleone Michael orders a hit on the other four families to solidify his power as the new head of the Corleone family.
- This is one of my favorite movies of all time without a doubt because its one you can watch over and over. It had all the ingredients that a classic film should have such as romance, action, suspense, and comedy. The movie was originally on a budget of 6.5 million dollars, and ended up grossing over $250,000,000 in sales from the box office and advertisements. People love to see pictures where sometimes the villain is the hero (anti Hollywood flicks). The movie was also nominated for 11 awards and won best picture, best actor (Marlon Brando) and best adapted screen play as the viewer of the film it made me feel like I was back in the 1940s as a mobster with the Corleone family without actually being there
